I'm still trying to find that answer myself, one step at a time. Man daredevil is amazing two and a half episodes in.

| My next game will be The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.
I got MKX, but I've managed to only play 45 minutes of it. College makes me busy with work. All work and no play makes me a dull boy.
I got the job for the Fall, and I unofficially got the Summer job as well. When I sent the professor the contract for the Fall position he told me I got the position, but the papers and whatnot haven't been signed yet. I don't want too excited because he told me he wanted three positions and he may only get two. I am not sure if I am getting the boot if he can't get three positions, or if I am part of the two who will get the job no matter what.
I can change my major into Imaging Science when I want to, but I am not completely sure what I want to do yet.

| Some people have said that the tattoos are part of the look and others have said it is not. I don't know who to believe. I will say, I kinda like them, but some of them I don't like. I am more so looking forward to the performance than anything else.
I saw AoU last night, and I am going again in a couple hours. I'll speak about it after my second viewing.

| On the one hand, I kind of like the basic approach that they seem to be going with; Nicholson's Joker was a gangster, Ledger's was an anarchist, and this one seems to simply be an outright lunatic. But the actual look I'm not overly fond of. I don't like the tattoos (particularly the one on his forehead), but the grill is the thing which I really hate. I also hate the fact that Leto is apparently pretty jacked for the role; I prefer the Joker as a skinny dude. Maybe that's nitpicky, but oh well. | |

| I would offer some advice for how to climb out of that hole, but I've been stuck down there for seven years or so. So I've nothing to offer.
But hey, I saw Age of Ultron! So let's talk about that instead of dealing with our emotional distress!

| What did you think of it? - Spoiler:
Overall, I really enjoyed it. I think I'd give it a 9.5, and an improved Extended Cut could definitely drive it up to a 10. My main concerns were: the really awkward and horribly written relationship between Bruce and Natasha. It was a bit cringeworthy. She really wanted him, and thought it just completely ruined the character. I felt that Natasha was incredibly desperate to get Bruce to like her. Not to mention, the romance came out of nowhere. I understand she recruited him, and she has been "calming him down" but still, it felt so damn forced. Ultron was interesting, but I really would rather have had a more HAL-9000 type villain. He did seem menacing, but most of the time he'd crack a one liner or a joke after most of the evil things he said. Menacing badass cuts Claw's arm, then he frantically apologizes for it. I think Whedon messed up with Ultron, but I still enjoyed his presence and every scene he was in. He was a cool villain, but not a great Ultron. Quicksilver's death was absolutely terrible. Whedon needs to stop giving "witty" last words to his characters. Quicksilver's "Bet you didn't see that coming" is absolutely dreadful. The thing is, that little ongoing joke should have ended. So, Quickie attacks Hawkeye in the beginning of the movie. This essentially starts the "bond" that they have, which I appreciated, but then Hawkeye attacks Quickie in the tower and says, "Bet you didn't see that coming." There, the little line game is over. Quickie said it, then Hawkeye got payback. Done. To bring it back again, for his death no less, is absolutely terrible. So that's the stuff that bothered me, there may be other things that I am not thinking about right now though.

| - Spoiler:
For me, the issue is what we always expected the issue to be with these movies: there are just too many characters to service for everything to feel fully formed. This is why I'm so against what DC is doing; with these movies, you've got the two jobs of A) introducing the new characters, and B) exploring how they fit into the world and interact with the other characters. In the case of the first Avengers movie, the first job had already been handled in the phase one solo films, allowing Whedon to focus entirely on the second job. Here, he had to do both of them for Quicksilver, Scarlet Witch, Vision, and Ultron, and both aspects inevitably suffered as a result. I mean, I think he did about as good a job as can be expected, given the inherent limitations. But the twins were a bit underdeveloped (which left me rather cold over Quicksilver's death). Vision was awesome, but he got so little screentime. And Ultron... I dunno, man. I just feel like the stakes didn't feel nearly as high as they should have felt. I think a part of that can be attributed to his jokey nature, but I'm reluctant to entirely blame it on that. Another big problem: it seems as though everybody had completely forgotten about the fact that Tony had nearly brought about human extinction. I mean, I'm sure they'll be dealing with that in Civil War, but the end of the film had them all happy and joking around and everything. That was problematic for me.
It kinda sounds like I hated it based on all that, but I certainly didn't. Whedon might have gotten a bit too quippy for his own good this time around, but he's pretty damn good at being quippy, so that's not the worst possible sin. There was some killer action, as was expected. The dream sequences were really intriguing, and on the whole it seemed like Whedon placed a bit more of an emphasis on deeper characterization this time around. I liked Andy Serkis as Klaue; looking forward to hopefully seeing him in Black Panther. Vision, as I said, was awesome, and the scene where he picks up Thor's hammer was just awesome. And hey, the Avengers are no longer whiter than snow! I place the movie overall firmly in the second tier category of Marvel films (first Captain America, two Thors); doesn't quite make the first tier (first Avengers, first Iron Man, second Captain America, GoTG), but above the third tier (Incredible Hulk, latter two Iron Mans).

| Just like Thanksgiving. A lot of people over your house, some people you like and others you don't. You definitely don't get to talk to them each individually as much as you'd want. But in the end you get great food (action) and good moments (humor) even though sometimes the jokes go overboard (that one Uncle of yours). | |

| Y u no support Yooka-Laylee, Raam?
I'm done with my undergraduate studies, and now I'm replaying the Arkham games (or in the case of Origins, playing it for the first time) in preparation for Arkham Knight.

So I watched Batman: Mask of the Phantasm today. Hol-ee shiiiiiit, that might now be my favorite Batman story of all time.

| I kind of reluctant to watch most of their current animated movies in the event that I eventually decide to read the comics that they're based on. And the only DC comics I've read are The Dark Knight Returns, Year One, and The Killing Joke (which they should totally adapt, if for no other reason than so we can hear Hamill as the Joker one last time). | |

| I'm incredibly surprised that they have not adapted The Killing Joke yet.
In other news, my first year of college has ended. My overall grades were decent, but I'm a bit disappointed. It could have been worse though. I don't even have all the grades in, but I'm assuming I'm getting an A in the two classes that do not have grades. Other than that, I got an A- in programming, an A in math, and a bloody C in physics. I have decided to not change my major as well.
I've started playing The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt which is my first Witcher game and I feel like this is my first real RPG as well. I mean, I've played Bioshock, Destiny, etc, but those had light RPG elements. I still need to get around to Skyrim, Fallout 3 & Vegas, and the ME Trilogy.
